Let’s talk weight loss. Are you're doing it the right way or the wrong way? I'm not going to tell you what you should be eating. We are bombarded with so much information, overloaded with the latest trend and what foods to avoid. All I will say is that we are all so bio diverse, so we must be intuitive with our body and tune into what feels right for you. Instead..... I'm going to delve into the mindset side of weight loss. Are you coming from a place of control, frustration and watching absolutely everything that you eat? Do you keep repeating the cycle of having such control over everything and how much you exercise you do each week and then falling off the wagon and then going back on, falling off, going back on?
Or are you at the other end of the scale where you’re not taking any notice of whether you are moving your body or not even doing any exercise or not being mindful of what foods you're eating and how they're making you feel? Whichever end of the spectrum you're on, you'll be approaching your journey coming from a place of fear. When you're trying to control everything so much from the food, movement and counting every calorie, then you're saying to yourself that you are completely out of control and your actions are driven by fear. You're not actually loving your body as it is now. Our minds are saying 'I'll be happy when I lose the weight and I’ll love my body then.' But women get to that point of losing the weight and realise they don't feel any different about their body. Instead women find different ways to criticise themselves and move on to another goal, searching for that happiness, that self acceptance and self love. Getting even more obsessed with every calorie eaten and burnt off through movement. It’s exhausting and this cycle, if you can keep up, will leave your feeling depleted and pretty crappy. Have you been at this point? It’s not a long lasting way to live. When temptation and urges prop up, and they will, there will be no resilience built up to those urges. Or you may have a big week and you’ve struggled to fit movement in. You completely fall off the wagon and stop, feeling more frustrated again. There is another way to weight loss to avoid this common trap. A way to dig a little deeper with the thoughts. By accepting your body, loving your body right now, choosing to eat certain foods or move your body because that's going to nourish your body. Respecting what it needs. Respecting your temple. Instead of trying to control the process in fear that we're going to put weight back on or that we're not going to lose the weight. Weight loss is a journey and not a short term fix to mask those internal mind blocks. On your wellbeing journey. Each time you have to make a decision, ask yourself these powerful questions; Is this a choice made out of love and respect for my body? Is this leaving my future self nourished or in the shit?!’ Give it a go and watch those thoughts. Is your mind choosing instant gratification over your future self? Tune in and start listening to those inner thoughts that are controlling your results. Where you are now is a result of that inner chatter and whether we listen and hold ourselves back or we manage our mind to move forward with what we really want.
