Creating and managing new healthy and existing habits can be a challenge at times and from my previous blog, you know it's completely normal to have the self doubt creep in and you begin to lose your motivation! We've all been there!
Do you ever plant a seed and then continuously dig it up to check that it's growing?
That's exactly what our minds do when we are trying out a new habit - pulling it apart, questioning every bump to figure out whether it's making a difference. Strangling the new habit with an unrealistic time scale!
When we embark on any new habit, without us realising, we have expectations and judgements on that new habit. If we don't see or feel the results straight away - our mind uses it as an escape route to feel discouraged and give up to avoid the feelings associated with low motivation and drive. It's safe and comfortable there for the sneaky mind but it comes with that feeling of failure and questions your worthiness. It doesn't feel nice to be in that discomfort and self doubt zone.
